My God Can

Written during my first hermitage experience.

My God can move mountains and whisper in a storm.
He can split the sea and heal the sick.
He can feed thousands with a meager meal and seek one lost sheep.
He can provide daily bread and eternal life.

My God can speak to me in dreams, in nature, in song.
He can inspire, guide, and convict me through His Word.
He can lead me beside still waters and teach me why the caged bird sings.
He can open my eyes to beauty and turn my eyes from worthless things.

My God can answer prayers with owls and hawks.
He can write love letters in the treetops.
He can rejoice over me with snowfall and sunbeams.
He can quiet me with His steadfast love and mercy.

My God can enfold me in a loving embrace as a parent does a child.
He can correct me when I’ve gone astray.
He can reveal His Glory in white-tailed creatures and stormy skies.
He can save me from Satan and myself.

My God can sacrifice His Son so I might live freely.
He can resurrect His Son so I might live eternally.
He can send His Spirit so I might live by His will.
He can be all-in-one, three-in-one, my Triune God.

My God can do, has done, is doing, will do all these and so much more.
