The Chameleon

A short poetic metaphor

Chameleons are beautiful creatures

Yet their colors are controlled by the environment,

not by will.

Take away the flashy colors, the camouflage masks,

and what would you have?

A very vulnerable animal, no less beautiful,

but in control of self.

Why do you try to hide from me?

You may be a chameleon,

But I am colorblind.
